What defines parenthood? The people with whom you share a biological construct, or those who change your diapers, bake you rainbow birthday cakes, and carry you inside when you're fake sleeping? It is often debated whether or not parenthood is something that can be earned through countless defining years of love and care…Many individuals take on parenting roles by choice, and unsurprisingly expect the rewards that come with it, like walking your 'child' down the aisle, having the first father-daughter dance, and so on…but some are still left disappointed after many years… 

Take this stepfather for example, after taking on the parental role of 3 children from their early childhood, he was there through it all, diapers and baking mix including. So, when it's finally time for his stepdaughter to walk down the aisle, and she choses to gift her brothers with the honor, both her mother and stepfather are left feeling somewhat betrayed…We know that to many people, that no one can replace a biological parent, and she claims to have made that choice as a way of honoring her late father…but then who is left to honor the man who raised her?
